Outer Radiation Belt Injection, Transport, Acceleration and Loss Satellite
The ORBITALS concept study will address the main technical issues to be resolved for the ORBITALS mission to succeed. These include technical issues related to the science payload design, and as well as to mission and suitable spacecraft bus design for the radiation exposure expected in the science orbit. In preparation for the concept study, the ORBITALS science team have already completed some initial planning and have identified the critical technical challenges facing the ORBITALS mission, and highlight how the concept study will be used to resolve these issues.
